Needing attention

Sun Jul 12, 2009, 4:26 AM
Hey people - well, not people I guess, since I suspect that not too many people bother reading these. I like adding to my journal randomly when I have the urge to. I love adding pics to DA and especially love when people fave them. I'm downright exstatic if someone leaves a comment. That only happens once in a while tho and the problem is I AM CRAVING DA ATTENTION! Basically, because there are soooooo many people on DA and soooooooo much amazing art (and let's face it, alot of crap, too), many many many people get 'left out'. Many people are fortunate to have friends who share the same interests and therefore are also on DA and who comment, critisize and fave their newest additions, but there are also some people who don't really know anyone else on here, like me. (I found DA, btw, by clicking a link that a friend of mine had as his status on MSN. I remember being really offended by the pic that it led to, but amazed by many of the other artistic expressions here, then I became a member, you know, to see the nudies and stuff, and then, when I finally got an awesome camera, I started adding pics about Jan of 08, or so).

However, rather than let it get me down, I have taken my sadness in regards to this situation and I have come up with a plan. All I need to do is convince people to agree with me. Strength in Numbers. My thought to help out those who are in my situation, feeling neglected, not because they are inferior to other, but simply because they do not have the same resources to be as visible (ie. cash for a subscription or that other thing that you can pay for to be seen more, friends who view, etc). I think that in the Newest Tab and Popular tab, you should be given the option to Ascend or Descend in # and Date. That way, the people at the very back, who quite likely have very notable contributions, can be equally, and easily, viewed by those who want to support the 'Greats', not just the most poular. It's like music...The songs that are most likely to make it to the top of the charts have very little instrumental diversity (Average of about 5 chords) and lyrics that are seriously lacking (For example, 'She's got a Donkey'...thats Fricken Fabulous, but what about the kids at Tineman Square? 'My Humps'... Do nothing for the environment. You see?

Anyway, that is my thought, chances are you won't read this, but if you do, let me know

Sad Songs

Wed Apr 22, 2009, 1:55 PM
I am currently sitting listening to Gary Jules, Mad World. I don't know why but it's by far the best sad song, IMHO.

I was searching through different lists of sad songs (Wait...am I depressed...No I think it's fleeting) and NO ONE ever mentions Gary Jules! Maybe it's because he isn't the original artist of the song? I am not sure, but I think that it should receive better recognition for it's ability to make you want to break down and Sob. Sigh, perhaps I am alone in this. So it made me think, which other songs go unnoticed for the emotions they make you feel? Doesn't have to be sad (let's not all be in depressed moods now) but not the usual James Blunt/Seal etc, OK?

If anyone reads this and thinks of something...let me know!

Cheers

Gotta love Friday's at C*W*

I complain about my job, which I will not name here. There are things about it which i find to be ilogical and somewhat unfair.

Not today, however, today I am sitting at my computer on a quiet Friday afternoon sipping straight gin (someone called it a Martini...it was a rather large shot of straight gin, if you ask me)

I love C*W*.

Today at least

What do you do when you have made a mistake? No one is hurt but you, but what do you do? That's the dilemma I am currently facing. I don't want to go into the detials of it all. But I suppose the best thing that can be done is the simplest one - learn from your mistake and ensure that you do not allow it to happen again.

Right?
